Position Summary
Friend Village is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality care and support to adults with developmental disabilities. DSPs play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and community integration while ensuring the health and safety of individuals served.
Key Responsibilities

Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility

Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals

Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings

Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in accordance with state regulations
-
Administer medications as trained and authorized

Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment

Build positive relationships with individuals, families, and team members
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Previous experience in human services, healthcare, or related field preferred

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to pass background checks and drug screening

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Skills

Position Summary
A Sponsored Residential Provider (Host Home Provider) is an independent contractor who opens their home to support an adult with a developmental disability. Providers offer a safe, stable, and family-style living environment while assisting with daily living skills, personal growth, and community involvement. This role is essential in helping individuals live meaningful, independent lives in a home setting.
Key Responsibilities

Provide a safe, clean, and supportive home environment

Assist with daily living activities (meal preparation, hygiene, medication reminders, etc.)

Support individuals in building independence and life skills

Encourage and facilitate community engagement and social activities
-
Transport individuals to appointments, work, and outings as needed

Maintain accurate daily documentation and communication logs
-
Follow individualized service plans (ISPs) and behavioral support plans
-
Collaborate with Friend Village staff, families, and case managers
-
Report incidents and concerns in accordance with state guidelines
Provider Requirements

Must have a private bedroom available for the individual
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
-
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance
-
Ability to pass background checks, home inspection, and required screenings
-
Willingness to complete required training (CPR/First Aid, medication management, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a caregiver, DSP, or in human services

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patience, compassion, and commitment to person-centered care

Ability to work independently and maintain a structured home environment

Monthly stipend based on level of care
